Healthy Being Osteopathy is open:
Healthy Being Osteopathy offers a professional service that is warm, caring and inviting. With the objective of achieving Health and Well being, we understand that you’re about living life to the fullest and we want to help you achieve positive health and wellbeing so you can get back to enjoying pastimes, such as spending time with the family, being outdoors or just looking after yourself. Whatever reason it is that you have to restoring your health, we’re here to support you on that journey to recovery.
Helping people from all walks of life is what we do. As an Osteopath we’re required to maintain ongoing professional development courses. As a registered Osteopath TJ has been practising since 2008, with a wealth of knowledge from not only his five year university degree undertaking subjects in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques he is also trained to perform standard medical examinations, in areas such as the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous systems.
Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners and are trained to recognise conditions which require referral to medical practitioners or other allied health.
TJ’s interest in health and fitness came about during his adolescent years whilst playing district cricket, tennis and basketball. He has also worked as a sports trainer for a local football club, where he assisted players on the field when they encountered injuries and worked alongside players to restore health through prevention and exercise.
His career aspirations to practice as an Osteopath came about when an injury to his mother (Adhesive Capsulitis) brought to his attention how debilitating pain can be and the impact on so many aspects of ones life. A variety of practitioners were consulted, but it wasn’t until his mother consulted an Osteopath that she began feeling some relief and seeing noticeable changes. Osteopathy treats the whole body as a unit and aims to restore health by achieving the normal balance of the body, biomechanically and through body fluids.
Through one of life’s most treasured moments, TJ treated his wife during both her pregnancies and later both his son and daughter. From this experience he gained a personal interest in treating patients throughout pregnancy and post pregnancy.
Melissa grew up on a dairy farm, where she enjoyed the wide open space and communion with animals and nature. From an early age she naturally used her hands to heal, gently massaging and moving the legs of calves born knuckled, helping them stand and drink.
Her grandmothers also both enjoyed Melissa’s instinctual caring touch, through hours of leg, neck, and head rubs.
Melissa has always been curious about the human existence. Observing one grandmother, and her own mother, struggle with lifelong health issues, in contrast to the beauty and ease she mostly saw expressed in the natural world and animals around her, she naturally sought knowledge and meaning. Then, in 1996, through a chance conversation with an osteopathic student, Osteopathy ‘found her.’
Like meeting an old friend, Melissa felt instantly and warmly embraced by the holistic nature of Osteopathy. With its philosophy honouring the triad of body, mind, and spirit as a single unit of function. and emphasis on our inherent systems of self-regulation and healing, all engaged through the medium of manual/hands-on therapy. What a perfect alignment and path of expression for Melissa!
Melissa’s post-grad studies in biodynamics have continued to help her integrate body, mind, and spirit.
She believes we all have gifts to share, and is passionate about helping people live their lives with the greatest of ease and flow: To feel comfortably embodied, heart-led, in an integrated dance of Wholeness with life, spreading the joy of their individuality.
Melissa loves to be active, to help her feel fully embodied. She swims and does yoga, but her favorite practice is definitely 5 rhythms dance! She enjoys traveling and exploring the world, especially meeting the beauty of nature and loves animals. This love of animals led her to complete further study in Small Animal Osteopathy.
TJ’s work has enabled him to meet new people, build friendships and assist a diverse range of patients with a range of issues; from sports injuries, degenerative conditions, youngsters and the elderly with the objective of accentuating ‘the health’ and well being. As well as being a proficient structural Osteopath, TJ has a passion in Biodynamic Osteopathy, a gentle approach listening to the indwelling forces of ‘the health’, seeing the wholeness within patients to promote healing, improve mobility, circulation and well being. He continues to refine and supporting an awareness for patients of mind and body, and most recently has been fortunate enough to be able to support and teach this aspect of Osteopathy.

Registered Osteopath

Melissa loves to meet and treat people of all ages, from babies through to the elderly, helping them to feel more ease and free expression in their bodies as a whole. Her natural approach to treatment are the more indirect and gentle techniques of Osteopathy, including Biodynamic Osteopathy. Through this, people often come to a deep rest and feel more synchronised in body, mind and spirit.
